
Xavier Finishes Fifth at CAA Championships

HOT SPRINGS, Va. - The Xavier women's golf team, led by 2010 All-CAA Second Team members Mary Beth McKenna and Breanna Patz, wrapped up their season at the CAA Championships with a fifth place finish at on the par-72 6,002-yard Old Course at the Homestead in Hot Springs, Va Sunday, April 18.
The Muskies shot team rounds of 316-330-308--954 (+90). XU's final round of 308 ties for the third best round of the tournament. The No. 43 Georgia State Panthers won their second straight CAA conference championship in a row.
Mary Beth McKenna and Breanna Patz both tied for 11th place with 21-over-par totals of 237. McKenna carded rounds of 78-83-76 while getting an eagle and two birdies in the third round. Patz had rounds of 77-79-81 to conclude her first conference championship.
Audrey Fellmeth was one shot behind McKenna and Patz with a total of 238 (+22). She shot rounds of 79-81-78. Fellmeth finished a shot better than her total at last season's championship. Michelle Winkler finished her championship with rounds of 82-85-80--249 (+33). Rachel Levi ended in 50th place after shooting two rounds. Sunday she shot a team low round of 74. On Friday she shot an 85 which brought her 15-over-par.
