
Musketeers Swimmers Split With Wright State On Senior Day

CINCINNATI -- The Xavier swim team split the senior day meet against Wright State Saturday at the O'Connor Sports Center. The Xavier men defeated the Raiders 124-79 while the Musketeer women fell 142.5-58.5.
Seniors Kari Peglar, Kerry Wright, Holly Hoover, Bethanie Griffin, Terence Mahon, Nathan Green, Andy Knight, Andrew Viglione, John Nolan, Michael Franke, and John Roof were honored prior to the meet.
Xavier seniors Peglar and Griffin teamed with junior Mary Podlaski and sophomore Anne Frigo for a second place finish in the 200 yard medley relay. Peglar also came in second in the 100 yard butterfly competition with a time of 1:00.54 while Griffin took second in the 100 yard backstroke in 1:00.21.
In men's action the team of sophomores David Maxwell and Sam Conchuratt, junior Michael Zennedjian, and senior Mahon took first place in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:35.48. Senior Nathan Green continued his streak of top finishes with a first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle in 1:40.92.
Mahon was tops in the 50 yard freestyle and the 100 yard backstroke. Conchuratt finished first in the 100 yard butterfly in 51.94. Seniors contributed to the 200 yard freestyle relay win when Green and fellow senior Viglione combined with Zennedjian and Pablo Morejon for a time of 3:10.08.
The Musketeers will return to action Friday, February 4 as they host Ohio for a 5 p.m. contest.
