Musketeers Finish First Two Rounds at Onion Creek

AUSTIN- Xavier finishes the first two rounds at Challenge at Onion Creek today tied for seventh at the par 70 Onion Creek Golf Club by shooting a pair of 301's. Junior Breanna Patz leads the squad as she is currently tied for 18th with a nine-over-par (75-74) performance.
Sophomore Christine Cash is two strokes back from Patz, posting an 80-71=151 (+11) and is tied for 27th. Cash's second round 71 is a new career-low. Classmate Ariel McNair is currently tied for 39th in the field of 75 competitors after her 13-over-par (74-79) opening rounds. Junior Kristin Tan and senior Michelle Winkler are both tied for 45th with both shooting a 76-78 in the two rounds on Monday.
Freshman Abby Smith and junior Alexandra Lake both competed as individuals in the event. Smith shot a pair of 77's and currently sits tied for 58th, while Lake posted a 86-92 (+38).
Number 30th ranked, according to golfweek.com, Texas Tech leads the thirteen team field after shooting a 288-291=579. Gabriella Dominguez of Texas Tech and Linda Luo of Michigan sit on top of the leader board as they both tallied a one-under-par (139) for the first two rounds.
