OXFORD, Ohio -- The Musketeers dropped a 6-3 decision at Miami (Ohio) Wednesday evening. With the loss, XU fell to 7-13 on the season.
Freshman Jacob Bodner was pegged with the loss in 3.2 innings of action. Second baseman Selby Chidemo led Xavier offensively as he went 2-for-4 at the plate with a run and an RBI.
XU scored twice in the top of the ninth to cut the RedHawks' lead in half but the rally fell short. Sophomore Brian Bruning drove in Chidemo for the first run of the inning and scored a run on an RBI ground out.
Xavier returns to action Friday as the Musketeers begin a three-game series at Western Illinois. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
