Volleyball Headed To Miami For Mid-Week Clash With RedHawks

CINCINNATI- The Xavier University volleyball team will head to Oxford, Ohio, for a mid-week match against Miami University. Video and live stats are available for the 7 p.m. match at Millett Hall on Miami's campus. Xavier brings a 4-3 record into the match, while Miami enters at 1-5.
Sounds Like a Broken Record
Senior libero Stephanie Vorherr broke her own school record for digs in a match, when she connected on 46 digs against Ole Miss. Vorherr had previously set XU's mark at 43 against Dayton (Oct. 15, 2010).
For the Record
Vorherr is on the verge of setting Xavier's record for career digs. She posted 17 digs in XU's first match of the season against S.C. State to move into second place in the record books. Currently, she has 1,715 career digs and stands just 14 digs shy of holding the record outright.
Last Time Out
XU went 1-2 in the Xavier Invitational, defeating Tennessee Tech and falling to Ole Miss and Marquette. Sophomore setter Aubree Smith earned a spot on the all-tournament team after passing 106 assists, including 46 in the five-set thriller against Ole Miss.
Series History
Xavier is only 1-17 against Miami (OH), with the lone win coming in 2005. However, 14 of the 18 contests were played prior to 1990.
Scouting the Opposition: Miami
• The RedHawks have won only one match, against Wright State, in the two touranments they have played.
• Miami has lost five matches in a row, including all three at the Diet Coke Classic in Minneapolis, Minn.
• Team Leaders: Meg Riley (3.67 kills/set), Amy Kendall (5.83), Madison Harvey (4.57 digs/set) and Jenny Ingle (.83 blocks/set).
