
Musketeers Lead After Day One

SOUTHPORT, N.C. - The Xavier women's golf team hold a three stroke lead over Delaware for the top spot after round one at the CAA Championship. The Musketeers fired a 313 (+25) in the opening round at The Reserve Club at St. James Plantation. All five Xavier starters ranked in the top-15 in the field.
Freshman Shane Crutchfield carded a team-low 75 (+3) and sat in second place overall. Crutchfield only trailed Richmond's Tracy Martin by one stroke on the leader board. Second on the team was senior Breanna Patz after she posted a 77 (+5). Patz leads the field of 45 competitors with 14 pars.
Ariel McNair finished the day tied for 8th place with a score of 80 (+8). McNair led the team in par-3 scoring, shooting only two-over-par for the day. Abby Smith and Christine Cash each tied for 13th with scores of 81 (+9).
