Men’s Golf Finishes Fifth, Freshman Wetterich Finishes Tied for 10th at Crooked Stick Intercollegiate

Carmel, Indiana – Freshman Daniel Wetterich finished tied for 10th at the Crooked Stick Intercollegiate after shooting a final round 78 (+6). The Cincinnati native has had three top 10 finishes in his first four collegiate tournaments. Wetterich was the lone Musketeer to have an eagle this week.

As a team, Xavier finished fifth. The Musketeers shot a combined score of 314 (+26) on the final day for a total of 907 (+43) over three rounds.

Sophomore Jose Montaño finished tied for 12th after shooting a final round 79 (+7). The Bolivia native played the par fives under par this week, averaging 4.75 strokes a hole.

Junior Matt Wetterich finished tied for 17th after shooting a final round 76 (+4). The Cincinnati native was first on the team with 34 pars this week.

Junior David Long finished tied for 34th after shooting a final round 81 (+9). The Memphis transfer was first on the team with 10 birdies over the three rounds.

The Musketeers return to the course on Sunday, October 25th for the Intercollegiate at The Grove in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
