
Women's Golf Finishes 13th At Rio Verde Invitational

RIO VERDE, Ariz. - On day three of the Rio Verde Invitational, the Xavier women's golf team finished with 307 to move up to 13th in the final standings. The Musketeers finished with a 64-over-par score of 928 for the 54-hole tournament.
Seton Hall led the way in the team standings with a score of 896. The Pirates were led by Eric Mclure and Alison Kruse who tied for first with a 2-over-par 218. McClure defeated Kruse in a playoff.
Shane Crutchfield shot a 1-over-par 73 on the final day for a final card of 74-82-73/229 (+18). Crutchfield moved up 27 spots on the final day to finish in a tie for 29th to lead the Musketeers.
Grace Howie also made a major jump in the standings during the final day, moving up 27 spots to a tie for 37th after shooting a 74(+2) to finish with a final score of 229.
Hanna Lee finished with a 16-over-par score of 232 (76-76-80) to finish in a tie for 43rd. Rachel Johnson's final round of 82 (+10) brought her three day total to with a 23-over-par 239 to finish tied for 75th. Johnson led the team with 35 pars, tied for 15th most in the tournament. Abigail Smith rounded out the scoring for the Musketeers, finishing in a tie of 83rd with a final card of 80-83-79/242 (+26).
The Musketeers will now travel to Maui, Hawaii for the Anuenue Spring Break Classic, held March 23-25 at The Bay Course. More information will be available from GoXavier.com.
