Former Musketeer Semaj Christon Leads NBA Summer League in Assists Per Game

Christon, Stainbrook and Crawford gain valuable exposure during the NBA's premiere summer event

CINCINNATI – Three former Xavier men's basketball players were in action during the NBA Summer League, which wrapped up on Monday, July 20 in Las Vegas.

Former Xavier guard Semaj Christon led all NBA Summer League players with 6.8 assists per game, logging 31.2 minutes per game for Oklahoma City. Christon averaged 15.6 points and 3.2 rebounds per game as OKC went 3-2 in Orlando, Fla.

Christon had a memorable game on July 4, scoring 14 points – including the winning lay-up with 20.4 seconds left – and dishing out 10 assists as OKC beat Charlotte, 76-74.

Playing in Las Vegas for the Warriors, former XU center Matt Stainbrook averaged 5.0 points per game to go with 4.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists. He had his best game on July 16 against the New York Knicks, scoring 10 points and grabbing three rebounds in Golden State's 76-54 win.

Former guard Jordan Crawford also appeared in the Las Vegas circuit, starting six games for the Dallas Mavericks and averaging 10.2 points per game.
