Men’s Golf Heads to Akron for Firestone Invitational

AKRON, Ohio – The Xavier men's golf team travels to Akron today for the Firestone Invitational. The two-day event will be held at Firestone Country Club, which will be playing 7,125 yards and par 72.
The sixteen-team field features the host team Akron, Ball State, Cincinnati, Dayton, Eastern Michigan, Francis Marion, Furman, Georgetown, Illinois State, Marshall, Ohio, Old Dominion, South Carolina-Aiken, Tennessee-Chattanooga, Western Kentucky, and Xavier.
Head coach Brian McCants is sending three seniors and two underclassmen to compete at the event. The lineup consists of Fox Morrissey in the number one position, followed by Matt Wetterich, David Long, Hunter Roberts, and Daniel Jaramillo.
First round begins Monday morning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start and continuous play for 36 holes. The tournament format is stroke play.
