Sophomore Jose Montaño Finishes Third, Men’s Golf Sixth at Little Rock First Tee Classic

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Xavier men's golf team concluded the final round of the Little Rock First Tee Classic this afternoon. Jose Montaño finished alone in third place after firing a final round 72 (E). The sophomore led the team with 37 pars and had one eagle.
John Burger finished in 16th place after shooting a final round 75 (+3). The graduate student led the team with 8 birdies.
Xavier, as a team, finished in sixth place. The Musketeers shot a combined score of 296 (+8) in the final round, their best score to par as a team during the two-day event.
Daniel Wetterich tied for the best round of the day for Xavier. The freshman shot an even par 72 in the final round to move him 36 spots up the leaderboard to tied for 22nd.
Junior Fox Morrissey finished tied for 78th after a final round 78 (+6). Classmate Matt Wetterich finished in 82nd place, shooting a final round 88 (+16).
The Musketeers return to the course on Saturday, April 9th for the Hoosier Collegiate at Otter Creek in Columbus, Indiana.
