"I thought Nolan Daniels ran a great 800 at the Bryan Clay Invitational. The leaders in his heat didn't get out as hard as we would have liked, but Nolan was able to counter their slowdown by pressing the pace from the 300 all the way through the 600, where he was able to hold on for a lifetime best of 1:53. In the past Nolan wouldn't have reacted to the slowdown, but I think he's matured as a college track athlete and took control of the race. We have a few more little things to clean up over the next few weeks but he should have a great end of the season in the 800." Â
"Jordan Shepherd ran a very smart race in the Bryan Clay steeple. He maintained contact with the second pack for most of the race and competed really well over the final 800 for a PR of 9:37, putting him 4th in the BIG EAST."Â
Â
"Tori Chiller had a great weekend of racing in the 800. Â First she set a personal best at Bryan Clay, but then she came back at Long Beach and dropped another second off her personal best - putting her in the top 20 in the BIG EAST."
"Sarah Mazzei also had a huge improvement this weekend. At the Bryan Clay she took her heat of the 1500 out very hard through the 800 and held on to her lead until the last few steps of the race. Â Sarah dropped 12 seconds off her lifetime best, running a 4:36 which puts her at 13th in the BIG EAST." Â Â
