"In the championship 3K, Sarah had a choice to make at the second lap whether or not to go with two girls from Providence who were surging ahead. She decided to go with them and pushed the pace hard for the next several laps. She showed a lot of guts and confidence by going for it and I'm glad she made the move. Finishing 6th at the Penn Relays in a championship event is amazing and I'm so glad Sarah was able to have this experience as a graduating senior." Â
"Maddie put on a clinic tonight in the 10K. The race plan was to even split 84 second laps the entire race and give herself a shot at breaking 35:00. Maddie was on pace through 5K (17:26) and stuck to the plan throughout. She showed how a well executed race plan with the proper training and a ton of desire can pay off. After the race Maddie felt rather comfortable so I know she's got at least 10-15 seconds that we can take off the next time she races the 10K. Finally, placing 4th in the championship 10K is an outstanding accomplishment and should give her a ton of confidence everywhere she races from here on out." Â
