Senior Mackenzi Humm posted a team-high 13 assists on Tuesday night

CINCINNATI – Xavier volleyball closed out non-conference play with a three-set loss (17-25, 15-25, 19-25) to rival Dayton on Tuesday night.

The Musketeers moved to 7-14 on the year, while the Flyers improved to 14-6.

NOTABLES

• Freshman Maya Krause led the Musketeers with 10 kills, her third straight match with double-figure kills. The outside hitter now has five matches with 10 or more kills this season. She posted a .308 hitting percentage to go along with two digs.

• Senior Samantha Foti added six kills, 14 digs and a .312 hitting percentage. Alexis Newsome posted five kills and two blocks.

• Senior Mackenzi Humm led the team in assists (13), while Meredith Klare led the squad in digs (15). McKena Estes added 11 assists and five digs.

• Dayton posted three more blocks (7-4) than the Musketeers. The Flyers also posted a .272 hitting percentage, while limiting the Musketeers to a .129 hitting percentage.
