Women's Race
"I'm really excited to race at Bradley on Friday. We ran this meet last year for the first time and I've been looking forward to getting back out there ever since. Bradley puts together a great meet on a course that will help prepare us for the BIG EAST Championships and the NCAA Regionals. With nine regionally ranked teams coming, it gives our women's team the ideal level of competition. Our goals as a team is to win and walk away feeling more confident going into the conference championships. If we can clean up a few pre-meet issues that we had at Louisville and bring our number five and six runners closer to our number four runner, I think we have a realistic shot at winning the meet. Individually, Madeline Britton had one of her best workouts ever last week and has looked good so far this week in practice. I know she wants to turn things around after not feeling great at Louisville, so we should see what she's capable of this week."
Men's Race
"Our men's varsity group will be in a highly competitive field, but after a week of maintenance and recovery work, I feel like they're ready for a breakthrough. This will also be the first meet for our top returner, Grayson Jenkins. With Grayson leading the way along Benjamin Bockoven, the guys are ready to have their best meet of the season."
• Xavier was idle last week after competing at the Louisville Classic on Sept. 30 and the All-Ohio Championships on Sept. 29.
• The women's team was ranked 12th in the most recent U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Great Lakes Region as announced by the national organization on Tuesday, Oct. 3.
• The Musketeers return to action at the BIG EAST Championships on Saturday, Oct. 28 in Kenosha, Wis.
