CINCINNATI – Xavier cross country is set for the BIG EAST Championships on Saturday, Oct. 28 in Kenosha, Wis. The meet is being held at the Wayne Dennehl National Course.

• The women's team was ranked 13th in the most recent U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Great Lakes Region as announced by the national organization on Oct. 16. The Musketeers have been ranked as high as 10th on two occasions this season.
• Senior Madeline Britton is expected to lead the pack for the Xavier women. The All-BIG EAST performer led the Musketeers with a 23rd place finish at championship meet last season. Classmate Allison Sinning is coming off one of her best performances at the Bradley Classic and is also expected to be a top performer at the meet. The Tipp City, Ohio, native placed 17th at the Bradley Classic, posting a 6K time of 21:30.30.
• Senior Madeline Britton set the school record in the 5K race with a time of 17:25.90 at the Queen City Invitational earlier this season, finishing third overall. She also ranks third all-time in the 6K record book, posting a time of 20:29.10 at the 2015 BIG EAST Championships.
• Senior Garrett Knapik is also expected to be one of the top finishers for the Musketeers. He placed 44th last season at the championship meet in a time of 26:25.00. During the 2015 conference championships, he posted a time of 24:48.20 in the 8K race – the ninth fastest time in school history.
• The Xavier women finished sixth at the championship meet last season, while the men placed eighth.
