RACE SCHEDULE
9 a.m. - Women's 6K Race
• The Bay Village, Ohio, native is the first runner to qualify for the NCAA Championships since Clare Fischer in 2013. Fischer finished 203rd overall in a time of 22:06.30.
• Britton qualified for the national championships by placing 12th at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Friday, Nov. 12. She posted a time of 20:53 in the 6K race.
• Britton was named to the USTFCCCA All-Region Team for her on-course performance at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional.
• Britton placed eighth at the BIG EAST Championships on Oct. 28, the highest finish for a Musketeer since joining the BIG EAST in 2013. She also earned All-BIG EAST First Team honors, collecting all-conference honors in cross country for the second time in her career.
"We had our last workout yesterday and our course run through today. Both sessions went really well for Maddie. She looked smooth and the feedback that we got from her was that her legs feel great and she's ready to go. We'll have our final meeting tonight after dinner to go over her race strategy, but I plan on giving her a few different options and then making a game time decision based on the weather conditions on Saturday. We're expecting rain and heavy winds but she'll be prepared for any scenario that unfolds. At this point we're just trying to keep her from getting too excited prior to race time and let her enjoy the moment."
