Musketeers End Season With Five-Set Win at Seton Hall

Xavier volleyball won six of its last eight matches to end the year
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. -Â Xavier volleyball ended its season on a three-match win streak as the Musketeers picked up a five-set win (30-28, 20-25, 21-25, 25-22, 15-11) at Seton Hall on Saturday night. Xavier won six of its last eight matches to conclude the 2017 season.
The Musketeers finished the year with a 13-19 (8-10 BIG EAST) record, while the Pirates wrapped up their season with a 16-15 (10-8 BIG EAST) record.

• Senior Samantha Foti posted a new career high in kills for the second time in as many matches, recording a team-high 21 kills with a .320 hitting percentage. She added 16 digs for her fourth double-double of the season. The Madison, Wis., native led the Musketeers to a 2-0 record this weekend with a team-high 38 kills to go along with 36 digs.
• Junior Laura Grossman posted 18 kills with a .342 hitting percentage. She added seven digs and two blocks in the win.
• Redshirt-freshman Audrey Adams added 10 kills - including four in the final set - and five blocks.
• Xavier posted 12 total team blocks, the Musketeers 13th match of the season with double-figure blocks. Alexis Newsome matched Audrey Adams with five blocks to go along with eight kills.
• Senior Lauren Frilling posted nine kills, four blocks, four digs and a team-high four aces. Classmate Mackenzi Humm added three aces, 31 assists and seven digs. Junior McKena Estes collected 32 assists and six digs.
• Meredith Klare had a team-high 17 digs to go along with five assists. The libero finished the season with 520 digs to rank fourth in Xavier single-season history.Â
