Head coach Christy Pfeffenberger will have four newcomers next season
CINCINNATI – Xavier volleyball coach Christy Pfeffenberger has announced the addition of Lauren Hanlon to the 2017 roster. The Musketeers will have four newcomers next season as Pfeffenberger signed three players in November during the NCAA's early signing period.
Hanlon joins Nadia Dieudonne, Moriah Hopkins and Maya Krause as members of the 2017 signing class.
"I am excited to add Lauren to our roster," said Pfeffenberger. "She is naturally athletic and diverse in the front row. She comes from a competitive club and high school and just knows how to rise to the occasion and win."
Hanlon led Marian Central Catholic HS (Illinois) to an IHSA Class 3A State Runner-Up finish in 2016. The 6-foot-1 right side hitter also helped the Hurricanes capture a state title in 2015.
"Lauren will not only fit with us athletically, but will also fit into the type of culture we are building here at Xavier," added Pfeffenberger. "She is going to have a bright future."
The Woodstock, Ill., native posted 284 kills last season with a .411 hitting percentage. She added 52 blocks, 230 digs and 21 aces.
Hanlon was also a Northwest Herald First-Team All-Area selection in 2016, while also earning second-team all-state honors. Over three years of varsity volleyball, she helped the Hurricanes post a 104-20 overall record.
"I'm very happy that I have the opportunity to be a part of the Xavier Volleyball program," said Hanlon. "I can't wait for the next four years!"
