Riesenberg joins Xavier after a two-year stint at Ohio University
CINCINNATI – Xavier volleyball head coach Christy Pfeffenberger has announced the addition of Andy Riesenberg to her staff as a volunteer assistant coach. Riesenberg was previously a volunteer assistant coach at Ohio University.
"I am looking forward to having Andy in the gym with us," said Pfeffenberger. "He has a great amount of experience and has worked with some very respected coaches. It will be a fun season with him on our staff!"
While at Ohio (2015-16), he helped the Bobcats post a 41-22 overall record and capture the 2015 MAC Championship and advance to the NCAA Tournament. He also assisted in coaching an AVCA All-Region First Team selection in 2016.
Prior to his time at Ohio, Riesenberg was the head coach at Lake Erie College from 2012-15. He coached a pair of all-conference selections during his time in Cleveland, while his teams also earned All-GLIAC Academic honors in each season – averaging a 3.80 team grade point average.
He also has assistant coaching stops at Auburn (2011-12), Wright State (2009-11) and Southern Indiana (2008-09).
Riesenberg also has experience on the club level, most recently coaching at Mintonette Sports in Columbus. He coached the U16 team to a USAV Girls National Championship at the 16 Open Division in Minneapolis, Minn., in 2017. He also served as the director of volleyball operations at the MidAmerica Sports Center in Louisville, Ky., from 2006-09.
The Cincinnati, Ohio, native earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and advertising from Mount St. Joseph in 2003.
