Xavier men place 7th, women place 9th

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Xavier cross country completed the first of two meets this weekend at the All-Ohio Championships on Friday evening.

The Xavier men placed seventh in the Collegiate Division I race, while the women placed ninth in the Collegiate Division I race.

MEN'S RACE
"With such a large field of competitors, I gave them the race strategy to have a fast start and settle into their pace after the first 500 meters. They executed the plan almost to perfection, which as their coach made me really proud. Going into the race, the men had a really hard few weeks of training to prepare them for later races in the season. Even though they were running a little tired, I felt that they performed well as a team and I cannot wait to see what they do later in the season!"

WOMEN'S RACE
"Overall, the women had a very successful day. Jane, Amanda and Sarah had amazing starts that set them up to have PR's in the 6K race. Bernadette looked so strong and confident throughout her race and I know as the season progresses, her performances will become even stronger."
