Four Women's Basketball Signees Named McDonald's All-American Game Nominees

CINCINNATI - Four Xavier women's basketball signees were named nominees for the 2018 McDonald's All-American Game. Maddy Johnson, Ayanna Townsend, Lauren Wasylson and Ka'Ierra Reed have all been nominated to play in the prestigious game.
Townsend, a 6'2" forward from Pittsburgh, Pa., led Winchester Thurston to its first ever WPIAL Championship and a 20-2 record last season. She averaged 18.6 points and 14 rebounds per game as a junior.
Wasylson, a 6'0" guard from Valencia, Pa., is a two-time WPIAL All-Conference selection. She averaged 17 points per game last season at Mars HS.
Reed, a 5'5" guard from Cleveland, Ohio, averaged 22 points last season at Cleveland Central Catholic HS. She had 10 or more games with 20 points.
Maddy Johnson, a 5'11" guard from Irvine, Calif., has led her team to an 82-18 overall record at Mater Dei HS, winning So Cal Regional Championship in 2015 and 2017. She averaged 10 points per game as a junior.
