SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Xavier dropped a 75-55 BIG EAST road game at Seton Hall on Sunday afternoon at Walsh Gymnasium.

The Musketeers moved to 8-5 (1-3 BIG EAST), while the Pirates improved to 9-4 (3-1 BIG EAST).

The Musketeers return to action on Thursday, Jan. 1 vs Marquette. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m. from Cintas Center with the game being aired on ESPN+ and The Varsity Network.

NOTABLES

The game featured one lead change and four ties. Xavier and Seton Hall were tied for the final time, 39-39, with 4:31 left in the third quarter. The Pirates outscored Xavier, 10-4, to close the frame and take a six-point advantage (49-43).
Seton Hall outscored the Musketeers, 26-12, in the fourth quarter to pull away for its 15th straight win in the series.
Vivien Nejašmić scored a team-high 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting in 30 minutes of action off the bench. She added six rebounds and one steal. The guard is averaging a team-high 13.5 points per game in BIG EAST only games with a .513 field-goal percentage. She now has four career double-figure scoring games.
Meri Kanerva added 12 points on 5-for-7 shooting. The guard added a team-high four assists. She now has 23 career double-figure scoring games.
Audia Young posted nine points in 16 minutes of action off the bench. Savannah White finished with three points, six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals.
Mariyah Noel had seven points, five rebounds and two assists. MacKenzie Givens added five points.
Xavier finished with a .389 field-goal percentage (21-for-54) and went 7-for-24 from behind the arc. The Musketeers were also 6-for-10 from the charity stripe.
Seton Hall won the battle on the glass, 37-23, and held a 21-15 advantage in points off of turnovers. The Pirates also scored two more second-chance points (8-6) and had three more fastbreak points (8-5).
Xavier scored one more bench point (26-25) than Seton Hall and had two more points in paint (18-16).
Seton Hall hit 46.8 percent (22-for-47) of its shot attempts and went 10-for-17 from behind the arc. The Pirates were also 21-for-26 from the foul line.
Savannah Catalon finished with a game-high 24 points. Mariana Valenzuela added a double-double (16 points, 10 rebounds).
