Katie Meyer Named Assistant Volleyball Coach

Meyer joins Xavier from Ursuline College
CINCINNATI - Xavier volleyball head coach Christy Pfeffenberger has announced the addition of Katie Meyer to her coaching staff as assistant coach.

"I am very excited for Katie to join our Xavier Volleyball family," said Pfeffenberger. "Going through the interview process, you could see she has a true love for not only the game, but for teaching individuals. She will be a great balance for this staff, and I look forward to begin working with Katie."

Meyer joins the Musketeers after spending three seasons as an assistant coach at Ursuline College. She helped coach four players to all-conference honors during her time on the staff and helped the Arrows capture 17 wins in 2016, the program's most victories since 2014.The 2015 squad also recorded a school record 209 total blocks.

She spent the 2014 season as a volunteer assistant coach at Cleveland State where she helped coach three players to All-Horizon League honors. Meyer also has club coaching experience with the Maverick Volleyball Club (2014-17).

"I could not be prouder to wear the X and to work with Coach Pfeffenberger and Coach Tolentino," said Meyer. "Xavier is a special place and I can already tell that this is a special program. I look forward to contributing to this team and helping our program reach its full potential."

The Dalton, Ohio, native played collegiately at Memphis from 2010-14. The middle blocker finished her career with 276 total blocks and led the 2011 squad to a 20-win season.
