Musketeers Drop Three Set Match at No. 19 Marquette

Laura Grossman led the team with nine kills on Wednesday afternoon
MILWAUKEE - Xavier volleyball dropped a three set match (19-25, 14-25, 20-25) on Wednesday afternoon at No. 19 Marquette. The Musketeers dropped to 4-12 (2-3 BIG EAST), while the Golden Eagles improved to 13-4 (4-1 BIG EAST).
 
	
		
• Senior Laura Grossman led the team in kills with nine. The outside hitter added six digs.
• Audrey Adams posted six kills in nine attempts for a .667 hitting percentage. The middle blocker has posted a team-leading 2.78 kills per set over team's last three matches with a .686 hitting percentage.
• Senior Morgan Finn chipped in eight kills with a .385 hitting percentage. Freshman Kelly Franxman added five kills.
• Senior setter McKena Estes recorded a team-high 16 assists, while Nadia Dieudonne posted 15. The two players combined for five digs.
• Senior Meredith Klare led the team in digs with nine. The libero is now 29 digs away from moving into second place all-time at Xavier with Beth Osterday (1996-99). Stephanie Vorherr (2009-12) holds the program record with 2,152 digs.
• Both teams posted three total team blocks with freshman Jayda Carlton leading Xavier with three (two solo, one assist). Marquette also had four more aces (5-1) than the Musketeers.
 
	
		
• The Musketeers continue BIG EAST action on Friday, Oct. 5 against Villanova. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. on the BIG EAST Digital Network.
