Reiff, Gray Lead Musketeers to 65-49 Win Over Bowling Green

Sophomore Aly Reiff scored a career-high 21 points on 6-for-9 shooting on Thursday afternoon
CINCINNATI - Sophomore Aly Reiff scored a career-high 21 points and classmate A'riana Gray posted her third double-double (16 points, 18 rebounds) of the year on Thursday afternoon as the Xavier women's basketball team defeated Bowling Green, 65-49, at Cintas Center. The game served as 'Field Trip Day' as 3,628 fans were in attendance. 
The Musketeers moved to 5-1 on the year, while the Falcons dropped to 3-4.
 
	
		
• The first half had four lead changes and two ties. Neither team led by more than two possessions.
• Xavier led 11-8 after the first quarter after limiting the Falcons to 1-for-10 shooting. Bowling Green responded by hitting 53.8 percent of its shots in the second period, outscoring the Musketeers 17-12, to take a 25-23 lead into the locker room.
• Aly Reiff led the Musketeers with seven points, while A'riana Gray and Carrie Gross both had five. Gray added seven rebounds. Bowling Green held a 23-19 advantage on the glass.
 
	
		
• Xavier opened the second half on a 16-4 run to take its first double-figure lead, 39-29. The Musketeers would never relinquish the lead for the remainder of the game.
• The Musketeers hit 61.5 (8-for-13) of their shot attempts in the third quarter, paced by A'riana Gray who scored 10 points on 5-for-6 shooting.
• Xavier kept up the hot shooting by going 6-for-12 from the floor in the final quarter, outscoring the Falcons 22-14. Aly Reiff finished the second half with 14 points on 4-for-4 shooting.

• Sophomore A'riana Gray posted her fourth career double-double and third of the season, scoring 16 points to go along with a game-high 18 rebounds - the most rebounds by a BIG EAST player in a game this season. She was 7-for-13 from the floor and added one steal.
• Junior Na'Teshia Owens scored 13 points to go along with three steals and two rebounds. The guard was also 6-for-6 from the foul line.
• Sophomore Aaliyah Dunham dished out a team-high five assists to go along with three rebounds and two steals. Xavier had 11 steals in the game, the team's third game of the season with 10 or more steals.
• Xavier forced 22 turnovers, converting the miscues into 24 points. Bowling Green only scored two points off of turnovers.
• Xavier has held its opponents to 50 or fewer points three times season. The Musketeers held an opponent to 50 or fewer points three times during the 2017-18 season.
