Men's Golf Finishes Robert Kepler Intercollegiate In 11th Place

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Men's golf finished its final regular season tournament over the weekend, jumping one spot on Sunday to finish in 11th at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate. Garrett Wood jumped 17 places on the leaderboard to lead the Musketeers, finishing in a five-way tie for 23rd.

Wood finished with three birdies and an even scorecard in the final round. The freshman improved his score each round, finishing with his best round on the final day and earning a 75, 74, 71 (220, +7) for the weekend.

Eduardo Rivera finished the day in a tie for 30th. Rivera entered the clubhouse with a 72, 74, 76 (222, +9). The junior earned a second-round eagle on a par 5 to mark Xavier's only eagle of the weekend.

Daniel Jaramillo and Hunter Roberts both improved on the leaderboard in the final round. Jaramillo finished in 82nd shooting 82, 77, 80 (240, +27). Roberts finished tied for 84th, entering the clubhouse shooting 77, 89, 77 (243, +30).

Xavier improved one spot to finish the tournament in 11th. The Musketeers earned a team scorecard of 289, 302, 304 (904, +52). Purdue University improved two spots on day three to earn first place in the tournament.

NEXT UP

The Musketeers return to the links, participating in the BIG EAST Championships next weekend. The BIG EAST Championships will take place on Callawassie Island in South Carolina, starting Sunday, April 29-May 1.
