Madeline Britton Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

She graduated Xavier in the spring of 2018 with a 3.94 GPA in nursing
CINCINNATI -Â Xavier track and field standout Madeline Britton earned U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) All-Academic honors on Thursday.

The Bay Village, Ohio, native graduated in the spring of 2018 with a 3.94 grade point average as a nursing major. She finished the year ranked 31st in the NCAA East Region for the 10,000-meter run.

Britton placed 22nd in the 10,000-meter run (34:52.76) at the NCAA East Regional. She also competed at the event in 2016, participating in the 10,000-meter run.

She was also a two-time All-BIG EAST selection in cross country during her time at Xavier, earning first-team honors last fall after finishing eighth at the conference championships. Britton competed at the NCAA Cross Country Championships last fall, becoming only the second student-athlete from Xavier to ever compete at the event.

• Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, certifiable by either NCAA Faculty Rep or NCAA Compliance Coordinator or Registrar's Office. Must have completed at least two (2) semesters or three (3) quarters at the nominating institution.

• For the outdoor season: must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships (the Preliminary Championship Competition and/or the Final Championship Competition) or for the multi-events, must have finished the outdoor season ranked in the top 48 in the East or top 48 in the West, certifiable by their place on the NCAA Division I descending order lists on TFRRS for Outdoor Track and Field.
