Ali Butcher Named Volunteer Assistant Volleyball Coach

CINCINNATI - Xavier head volleyball coach Christy Pfeffenberger has announced the addition of Ali Butcher to her coaching staff. Butcher will serve as a volunteer assistant coach.

"Ali brings a new level of energy and knowledge to our gym," said Pfeffenberger. "She has a fresh perspective on the game. I am excited for our staff and players to get working with her."

Butcher previously worked at Elevation Volleyball Club for two years, serving as an assistant to the club directors while also working as a club coach. She spent the 2018 season as the head coach for the 17U Girls National Team (USA Division). Butcher was also the assistant coach for the 15U Girls National Team (USA Division) in 2018.

Prior to Elevation Volleyball Club, she worked as a rehabilitation technician at Cincinnati Children's Hospital (2014-16).

Butcher played collegiately at DePauw University from 2007-10, helping the Tigers post a 99-40 record during her time on team. She earned all-conference first-team honors in 2010 and second-team recognition in 2009. Butcher finished her career ranked third all-time in assists (3,843).

Butcher earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from DePauw in 2011.
