CINCINNATI - After a lengthy road trip, Xavier women's soccer returned home on Sunday, topping Southern Indiana, 5-0, to remain undefeated at the XU Soccer Complex this season. Samantha Dewey scored a pair, including the game-winner, to help the Musketeers move to 2-4-0 on the season. Carrie Lewis, Isabella Langusch and Rachel Dewey each scored the first tally of their Xavier career.

HOW THEY SCORED

6' | XAVIER | Samantha Dewey's game-winner came early in the match, when Grace Brauer served the ball from the right side into the box. Dewey finished with the header for her first tally of the season.

14' | XAVIER | Xavier took a 2-0 lead that would stand until halftime when Andie Kennard served the ball into the box for Carrie Lewis, who scored on a header.

60' | XAVIER | Samantha Dewey's second tally came early in the second half, after Olivia Popovich served it to her in the box. Dewey tapped it in to put the Musketeers up, 3-0.

77' | XAVIER | Off a corner kick from Grace Bahr, Jenna Leslie's header was blocked right in front of the goal, forcing the goalkeeper to come off her line to try to collect it. Isabella Langusch found the ball in the scrum and tapped it in to put Xavier up 4-0.

86' | XAVIER | Xavier's final tally when Rachel Dewey served the ball into the net off a corner kick to put Xavier ahead, 5-0.

NOTABLE

Samantha Dewey's goals were her first of the season and the 19th and 20th of her Xavier career. Coupled with an assist against Toledo, Dewey now has a team-high five points.
This is the fourth time Dewey has scored two or more goals in a match during her Xavier career, setting a career-high as a freshman with three against Marian. She also scored a pair of goals in a single match last season against Cleveland State and against Dayton as a sophomore.
Carrie Lewis, who led last year's squad in assists, scored the first goal of her Xavier career.
Freshmen Isabella Langusch and Rachel Dewey recorded their first tally and first points of their college career.
Andie Kennard's assist is her first point of 2018. Grace Brauer, Olivia Popovich and Jenna Leslie each picked up the first point of their college career on assists.
Through six games, Xavier has six goal scorers and 11 players who have recorded points, matching last season's total in both categories.
15 Musketeers recorded shots as Xavier held a 23-5 advantage on shots. Xavier also held an 11-0 advantage on corner kicks.
Olivia Jenkins played the full-time in-frame to earn the first win and first shut-out of her college career
Hayley Jakovich and Allison Klimkowski started on the backline and played over 50 minutes on defense, helping the Musketeers limit the Screaming Eagles to just two looks on frame.
Xavier's 5-0 win is the highest scoring effort and the largest margin of victory since defeating Marian 5-0 on Sept. 6, 2015.
