
Men's Basketball Looks To Bounce Back On Sunday At No. 16/18 Marquette

Musketeers have won seven straight BIG EAST road games.
MILWAUKEE, WIS. --- The Xavier University Musketeers travel to Milwaukee this weekend for a Sunday clash with the No. 16/18 Marquette University Golden Eagles. The game is set for noon ET on FOX National, including FOX 19 in Cincinnati, and 700 WLW radio.
Xavier, 9-6 overall and 1-1 in the BIG EAST Conference, is coming off a loss to Seton Hall on Wednesday at Cintas Center despite 22 points from sophomore Paul Scruggs and a Xavier career-high 20 points from graduate transfer Zach Hankins.
Marquette, 11-3 overall and 0-1 in the BIG EAST Conference, is coming off a loss at St. John's on New Year's Day. The loss snapped the Golden Eagles' eight-game winning streak that included wins over Louisville, Kansas State, Wisconsin and Buffalo. Marquette boasts the league's lading scorer, Markus Howard at 23.9 ppg.
Xavier's win at DePaul on Dec. 29 marked the Musketeers' seventh straight road win in BIG EAST Conference play dating back to last season. XU won its final six BIG EAST road games last season and finished 7-2 on the road and 15-3 overall, winning the BIG EAST Regular Season Championship.
Marquette leads the series 49-24, although Xavier swept the two meetings last season. XU is 9-3 vs. MU since the two teams became BIG EAST rivals in the 2013-14 season. The Musketeers have won three of the last four meetings in Milwaukee.
