A'riana Gray Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK - A'riana Gray was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for her on-court performance last week. The sophomore forward averaged 14.3 points and 12.0 rebounds per game in three contests last week.

The Cleveland, Ohio, native added a .552 field-goal percentage (16-for-29) and was 4-for-7 from behind the arc and 7-for-10 from the foul line. She also had six assists, four steals and two blocks.

Gray finished the week by helping the Musketeers post their first BIG EAST win of the season over Seton Hall on Sunday (W, 63-62 in OT). She scored 19 points and grabbed 22 rebounds against the Pirates.

The 22 rebounds are the most by a BIG EAST player this season, while ranking tied for third in the NCAA. The 22 rebounds also rank second in school history. Gray is the first Xavier player to post 20 or more rebounds in a game since Ta'Shia Phillips on Dec. 9, 2007 at Louisville.

Gray and the Musketeers return to action on Friday, Jan. 11 against Butler. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. from Cintas Center.
