Musketeers End Road Swing With Loss at Ball State

Junior Aaliyah Dunham led Xavier with 10 points, three rebounds and three assists
MUNCIE, Ind. -Β Xavier women's basketball ended its three-game road swing with a 70-49 loss at Ball State on Wednesday afternoon. The Musketeers moved to 1-3 on the year, while Ball State improved to 2-2.

β’ Ashley Gomez hit a three pointer to open the game and give Xavier an early lead. Ball State responded by hitting 50 percent (6-for-12) of its shots in the first quarter, taking an 18-6 advantage after 10 minutes of play. Gomez and Aaliyah Dunham both had three points in the opener quarter.
β’ Xavier's cold shooting continued ito the second quarter as the Musketeers finished the first half only 2-for-30 from the floor. The Musketeers forced 11 turnovers in the first half, turning the miscues into five points.
β’ Aaliyah Dunham paced the Musketeers with five points, while Na'Teshia Owens added four. Deja Ross led the team on the glass with five rebounds.

β’ Ball State opened the final stanza on a 12-2 run to build a 68-39 advantage at the 4:51 mark. The Musketeers outscored the Cardinals, 10-2, to close the game.
