MaryAnn O'Toole led Xavier with nine kills on Friday night

QUEENS, N.Y. - The Xavier volleyball team dropped a three-set match (25-20, 25-20, 25-13) at St. John's on Friday night. The Musketeers moved to 9-17 (6-7 BIG EAST), while the Red Storm improved to 16-10 (7-5 BIG EAST).

NOTABLES

• Freshman MaryAnn O'Toole led the Musketeers with nine kills. The outside hitter added six digs.

• Senior Madi Kutruff matched O'Toole with a team-high six digs, while freshman Alyssa Overbeck added five digs.

• Freshman Carrigan O'Reilly posted a team-high 20 assists to go along with four digs. Junior Moriah Hopkins added seven kills, while sophomore Ellie Chaffee chipped in five.

• Xavier recorded 13 blocks (10 assist, three solo) on the night, paced by sophomore Jayda Carlton who had four. Carlton now has 106 total blocks to lead the BIG EAST.
