The junior guard scored 12 points to go along with a career-high nine assists and six steals
CINCINNATI - Junior Aaliyah Dunham had a career-high nine assists and six steals on Friday night as the Musketeers dropped a 62-53 matchup with Colorado at Cintas Center. The Musketeers moved to 1-6 on the year, while the Buffaloes remained undefeated at 8-0.
• Colorado scored four straight points to open the game before Xavier used a 7-2 run on 3-for-3 shooting to take a 7-6 advantage at the 6:57 mark. The opening quarter had four lead changes and one tie with neither team leading by more than four points. The Buffaloes ended the period on a 4-2 run to take a 13-12 advantage.
• Colorado scored four unanswered points to open the second quarter before the Musketeers used a 10-4 run capped by an Aaliyah Dunham basket to regain the lead, 22-21, with 3:37 on the clock. the two teams exchanged the lead two more times before the half concluded. An Ashley Gomez three pointer with 57 seconds left in the half put the Musketeers ahead, 27-25, going into the locker room.
• Aaliyah Dunham led Xavier with seven points at the break, while A'riana Gray and Ayanna Townsend both had five. Gray added a team-high four rebounds, while Dunham had four assists and three steals.
