Marshall Earns BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor

Sophomore has been honored twice during the league season.
CINCINNATI --- Xavier University sophomore forward Naji Marshall has been named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll for his efforts in Xavier wins over Creighton on Feb. 13 and at Providence on Feb. 16. This is the second time that Marshall has earned a BIG EAST honor since league play started at the end of December.
Marshall averaged 18.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game for the two Musketeer wins this past week. Marshall, who led all scorers in the Creighton overtime win with 23 points, scored 13 of Xavier's final 16 points, including four of XU's five points in overtime. He added 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists in the win at Providence.
The Atlantic City, N.J., native was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on Dec. 31.
Marshall leads Xavier in scoring at 13.8 ppg., which ranks 14th in the BIG EAST. He is ranked second on the team in rebounding at 6.7 rpg. (ninth in the BIG EAST) and assists at 3.4 apg. (12th in the BIG EAST).
The Musketeers, 13-13 overall and 5-8 in the BIG EAST Conference, take a two-game winning streak into Wednesday's game at Seton Hall.
