Men's Golf Finishes Seventh as Wood Shoots Even Par

Goodyear, Ariz. - Xavier men's golf finished out the Loyola Intercollegiate in seventh place after they posted a 1-over final round with a 289. The Musketeers carded a 871 (+7) for the 54-hole outing. Garrett Wood led XU, scoring even par for the tournament (216).

Garrett Wood shot back-to-back under-par rounds with a 70 (-2) on Sunday and a 71 (-1) on Monday, finishing tied for 13th with 216 (E). He ended with 33 pars and 11 birdies over the weekend.

Imaad Qureshi finished tied for 27th with a total of 219 (+3) after he carded en even-par round (72). Qureshi led XU and was tied for sixth overall with 38 pars through the weekend, he added eight birdies as well.

Michael Prebles carded a 220 (+4) over the 54-hole outing, which tied him for 33rd overall. Prebles finished with 31 pars, seven birdies, and two eagles.

Nick Frey was only one stroke behind Prebles with a 221 (+5) for the weekend, he finished tied for 38th. Nick Frey tied with Garrett Wood to lead Xavier with 11 birdies, he added in 30 pars.

Martin Jaramillo placed tied for 62nd and carded an even-par round to finish the tournament with a score of 224 (+8).

UAB won the tournament by posting a 17-under (271) in their final round and an 846 (-18) over the 54-hole outing.
