Men's Golf Looks Ahead to BIG EAST Championship at Callawassie Island

OKATIE, S.C. - Xavier men's golf heads to South Carolina to finish up the season at the BIG EAST Championship.

The Musketeers go into the tournament as the fifth seed, averaging 299.27 per round with a versus-par of 13.09 through their 22 rounds this year.

Garrett Wood leads XU, ranking 12th in the BIG EAST. He averages 74.00 per round with a versus-par of 2.45. Wood carded five rounds at par-or-better this year with a best finish of 11th at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate over Easter weekend.

Martin Jaramillo is slotted in the number two spot for the tournament, ranking 32nd in the BIG EAST. Jaramillo has an average score of 76.05 over XU's eight tournaments this season.

Nick Frey is Xavier's third golfer for the BIG EAST championship, ranking 35th in conference averaging 76.55 per round.

Michael Prebles and Imaad Qureshi round out XU's lineup for the weekend.

The tournament consists of 54 holes with 18 being played on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
