Garrett Wood Selected to Play in NCAA Louisville Golf Regional

CINCINNATI - Sophomore Garrett Wood was selected to play in the NCAA Louisville Regional on May 13-15. The NCAA Selection Show was aired on the Golf Channel on Wednesday night.

The three-day tournament is being hosted by the University of Louisville at the Louisville Golf Club in Simpsonville, Ky.

Thirteen teams and 10 individuals not on those teams will compete at three regionals, while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.

The NCAA Championships are being held on May 24-29 at Blessings Golf Club in Fatetteville, Ark.

Wood won the BIG EAST Individual Title on April 28 in Okatie, S.C., winning the championship by one stroke. He became the 12th player in program history to finish first at a conference championship.

The Mason, Ohio, native will be the first Xavier to participate in the NCAA Tournament since Jose Montaño in 2016. All told, Xaver has participated in 12 NCAA Tournaments.
