CINCINNATI - Xavier women's basketball coach Melanie Moore has announced the signing of Morgan Sharps (Granville, Ohio) to the 2019-20 roster. Sharps becomes the first signee for first-year head coach Melanie Moore.
"We are thrilled to have Morgan join our Xavier family," said Moore. "She is one of the best shooters in Ohio and will bring a highly competitive mentality to our program. We hit a home run with our first signee and she will have an immediate impact on bringing the winning tradition back to Xavier."
Sharps was a three-time All-OHSAA selection and a three-time All-Ohio Capital Conference honoree at Newark HS. The 5-foot-10 guard helped her high school team post a 96-15 overall record during her four years on the team.
Sharps led her team to three conference titles, three district championships and one regional championship. She averaged 15 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game during her high school career.
Sharps finished her career as the second leading scorer in school history (1,463), while ranking first in career three pointers made (325). She also holds the single-season school record for three pointers made (98).
