Nejašmic Scores Career-High 24 Points in Road Loss at Butler

INDIANAPOLIS - Vivien Nejašmić scored a career-high 24 points in Friday's BIG EAST road loss at Butler. The Bulldogs defeated the Musketeers, 64-58, at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Xavier dropped to 8-4 (1-2 BIG EAST), while Butler improved to 7-6 (1-2 BIG EAST).
The Musketeers continue BIG EAST action on Sunday, Dec. 28 at Seton Hall. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m. from Walsh Gymnasium with the game being aired on ESPN+.

NOTABLES
- Butler never trailed in the game and led for 34:37 in the contest. The game featured three ties. The Bulldogs led by as many as 12 points (34-22) with 1:45 left in the first half.
- Butler took an eight-point lead into the final quarter of play, but the Musketeers battled back to close within one point four times in the fourth stanza. Xavier made it a one-point game (59-58) on a Mariyah Noel layup with 1:43 left in regulation. Butler responded by closing the game on a 5-0 run to pull away for its first BIG EAST win of the season.
- Vivien Nejašmić scored a team-high 24 points on 10-for-17 shooting in 25 minutes of action off the bench. She added six rebounds and knocked down two, 3-pointers.
- Vivien Nejašmić is one of only two Xavier players to make 10 or more field goals in a game since the start of the 2022-23 season (Meri Kanerva also had 10 field goals vs Kent State on Nov. 14, 2025).
- The 24 points by Vivien Nejašmić are the second most in a single game by a Xavier player this season (MacKenzie Givens scored 25 points at Cincinnati on Dec. 7).
- Mariyah Noel added 13 points on 6-for-16 shooting. She also pulled down a game-high eight rebounds.
- Petra Oborilova added eight points, two rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals. Meri Kanerva finished with six points and a game-high eight assists and three steals.
- Savannah White chipped in seven rebounds, three blocks, three points and two steals.
- Xavier finished with a .397 field-goal percentage (25-for-63) and went 4-for-21 from behind the arc. The Musketeers were also 4-for-7 from the charity stripe.
- Butler won the battle on the glass, 37-30. Both teams scored six, second-chance points.
- The Bulldogs posted a .457 field-goal percentage (21-for-46) and went 7-for-20 from behind the arc. Butler was also 15-for-22 from the foul line.
- Xavier held a 16-10 advantage in points off of turnovers and scored 15 more bench points (24-9) than the Bulldogs. The Musketeers also held a 40-24 advantage in bench points.
- Butler's Caroline Dotsey posted a game-high 25 points and eight rebounds.
