Lane Flamm, Jack Housinger Named to Collegiate Baseball's 2019 Freshmen All-American Team

TUCSON, Ariz. — A pair of Xavier freshman, Lane Flamm and Jack Housinger, were named to the 2019 Collegiate Baseball Freshmen All-American team, powered by Diamond.

Lane Flamm emerged as the Musketeers' go-to closer in his freshman season, appearing in 25 games as a reliever, posting a 2.68 ERA. Flamm collected a team-high eight saves in 53.2 innings of work this season.
Flamm has allowed just 16 earned runs to 47 strikeouts overall. He set a season-high with five strikeouts in 3.0 innings at St. John's. The right hander went a season-high 5.2 innings at Louisville, picking up the first win of his collegiate career against the then No. 8 Cardinals. Flamm finished with three wins for the season.
Flamm was named Second Team All-BIG EAST following his rookie campaign.

Jack Housinger has made 55 appearances for the Musketeers, including 50 starts, primarily at third base. The freshman is batted .275 on the season, with 47 hits and a team-high matching 36 walks for an on-base percentage of .407.
Housinger finished with 12 doubles on the season including a pair in one game against Grand Canyon. He collected season-high four hits in a 4-4 game against Evansville, matching his season-high with three runs scored.
Housinger had a fielding percentage of .974 with only four errors in 155 chances during his rookie season.
Housinger was also named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team.
