Jon Bernard Named BIG EAST Swimmer of the Week

NEW YORK - After winning three events to help Xavier's men take the top spot at the 11th Annual Butler Invite, Jon Bernard was named BIG EAST Swimmer of the Week on the men's side.Â
Bernard, a native of Maineville, Ohio, led all scorers with three individual wins as the Musketeers took first of seven teams. Bernard swept the breaststroke events, taking the 100 breast with a time of 56.86 and the 200 breast with a time of 2:03.76, both personal best and a season-best times for the Musketeers. Bernard also took the top spot in the 200 IM with a time of 1:53.59.
In the 200 medley relay, Bernard took the breast stroke leg for the A-squad that placed second with a time of 1:33.87.
Its the freshman's second weekly award of the season after earning it in week one.
