The first 500 fans in attendance will receive an X cookie cutter
CINCINNATI – Xavier University and Mount St. Joseph University have teamed up to host the first Annual Lauren Hill Weekend on February 7-8, with each team hosting an honorary Lauren Hill game on their campus. Xavier women's basketball takes on Villanova on Friday, Feb. 7 at 7:00 p.m. at Cintas Center, while Mount St. Joseph will be hosting Defiance at the Harrington Center on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 4:00 p.m.
On Friday, Feb. 7, the first 500 fans in attendance will receive an X cookie cutter. Fans can also enjoy free hot chocolate, while supplies last. Kids in grades 8 and under are invited to stick around after the game and make a Layup 4 Lauren on the court.
Xavier has also partnered with The Cure Starts Now to spread awareness and participate in the initiative to fight pediatric brain cancer. To learn more about The Cure Starts Now, click here.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth (ages 3-17). Tickets can be purchased online here or at the box office on gameday.
Discounted group tickets are also available for purchase in advance of gameday. Group tickets are just $3 each for groups of 15-24, $2 each for groups of 25-99 and $1 each for groups of 100 or more. To purchase or to learn more, email athmktg@xavier.edu or call 513-745-3389.
Admission is free to Xavier undergraduate students and faculty and staff with their All Card.
The event honors the late Lauren Hill, a Mount St. Joseph student who played for the Lions despite battling an inoperable brain tumor. Hill hit the court for her first collegiate game on Nov. 2, 2014 against Hiram College in front of a capacity crowd at Cintas Center on national television. Hill's story gained national attention as she set out to raise awareness for The Cure Starts Now Foundation. To date $2.3 million dollars has been raised in Lauren's honor to help find a homerun cure.
