TUESDAY, NOV. 24, 2020 - POST NO. 1
The class of 2020 did not have anything near what a normal senior year looks like. On March 13, we got an extended spring break, and the next class we attended was at Xavier University on August 27. When we committed, no one expected a pandemic to take over every aspect of our freshman year basketball season, but, I think our four years here are going to hold a lot of "unexpected's." (Our first home game has already been canceled)
Finally, after five months in the gym—beginning with being by ourselves with printed-out workouts and then slowly being able to all be in a gym together at once—we are on our way to our first NCAA Division I basketball game at Detroit. The team, coaches, and everyone on staff is excited, especially since our season was up for cancellation only a few months prior. We have our scouts, our uniforms, and everything we need for November 25, all we need to do now is what we have been waiting to do since March—play a game of basketball.
These past five months have gone by in a blink of an eye, and the next few months will go by even faster with closely scheduled games, but we are ready for whatever comes our way. As a team who has not been shut down due to a positive COVID-19 test (knock on wood for us), we have proven that we have our minds fixed on one thing and one thing only—a great season. The four of us and the team are apart of a new era with Melanie Moore, and we won't let anyone get in the way of that.
