Nia Clark Named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week

The freshman guard had 14 points and 10 steals at Detroit Mercy
NEW YORK - Nia Clark was name BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Monday morning. She earns the award for the first time in her career.
In her first game in a Xavier uniform, Clark scored a team-high 14 points and registered a game-high 10 steals – the second-highest total by a Division I player this season – as the Musketeers scored an 81-73 win at Detroit Mercy on Wednesday. The 10 steals are also the second most in single-game school history.
The Indianapolis, Ind., native was 6-of-13 from the field, while adding four assists and three rebounds.
Clark and the Musketeers return to action on Friday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. vs Creighton in the team's BIG EAST opener.
