Zwack throws seven shutout innings in two-hit performance
CHARLESTON, SC -Â Xavier baseball won a tight showdown over the College of Charleston behind great pitching from Nick Zwack and defensive work from Natale Monastra. Jack Housinger supplied the RBIs with a two-run single in the 6th to give Xavier all they needed to outlast the Cougars.
The Musketeers will be back tomorrow for the series finale scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET

- Jack Housinger scored two on a single in the 6th to give Xavier the lead and the support they needed to ultimately seal the victory.
- Natale Monastra had a good day at the plate as well as behind it. He went 2-4 with a double and a single, and he also caught to runners stealing to bring his total to 6 for 6 on the year.
- Jonathan Kelly went 2-4 today with two singles and a run scored.
- Garrett Schultz also scored after singling in the 6th as part of his 1-4 day.
- Sam Olson went 1-3 from the nine-hole with a single in the 5th.

- Nick Zwack pitched seven shutout innings, allowing just two hits and striking out seven.
- Xander Rojahn came in the 8th and recorded a strikeout.
- Trey Schramm earned the save while staving off a comeback attempt and shutting the door in the 9th.
