Naji Marshall Earns BIG EAST Conference Accolades

College Sports Madness and BIG EAST honor the Xavier junior.
CINCINNATI --- Xavier University junior Naji Marshall has been named BIG EAST Conference Player of the Week by College Sports Madness and named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll by the league office after averaging 21.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game in Xavier victories over DePaul on Feb. 25 and at Georgetown on March 1. Marshall hit the game-winning 3-pointer with four seconds left at Georgetown.

This marks the second time this season that Marshall has been named BIG EAST Conference Player of the Week by College Sports Madness and the third time this season that he has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll by the league office.

Marshall is the only BIG EAST Conference player that is ranked in the top 10 in the league in scoring (fourth at 16.5 ppg.), rebounding (10th at 6.3 rpg.) and assists (seventh at 3.9 apg.). He leads the team in scoring and assists and is second in rebounding. He also leads the team in steals and ranks 12th in BIG EAST at 1.3 spg.

Xavier, 19-10 overall and 8-8 in the BIG EAST Conference, has won six of its last eight BIG EAST games, including four road wins. XU, which evened its league record at 8-8 with the win at Georgetown on Sunday, plays at Providence on Wednesday.
