Transfer Emma Marcus Joins Women's Soccer

Marcus comes to the Musketeers after spending a season with Nebraska
CINCINNATI – Xavier women's soccer added a transfer for the 2020 season, Emma Marcus, who comes to the Musketeers from Nebraska where she played one season.
Marcus started in six matches during her freshman season at Nebraska, appearing in 17 matches total. She collected nine shots, three of which were on goal. Marcus played a season-high 76 minutes against Clemson.
Marcus is originally from Winter Springs, Fla., where she graduated from Winter Springs High School. She helped her high school team to Seminole County Districts in 2015 and 2017. During each of her first three years, she led the team in goals scored, amassing 36 goals in three seasons. A team captain during her junior season, she captured first-team all-conference honors during her sophomore and junior seasons after claiming second-team accolades as a freshman. She was also named Team MVP as a sophomore and junior.
Marcus played club soccer for Florida Kraze Krush, helping the team to ECNL Nationals in 2018 after making Southern Regionals in 2017. In 2016, Florida Kraze Krush finished fourth at nationals after winning the Southern Regionals title. The team made U.S. Club Regionals in 2015. She helped the team to the 2014 Southern Regionals quarterfinals, earning junior player-of-the-year honors.
Marcus plans to major in Criminal Justice at Xavier. She is the daughter of Josh and Lisa Marcus and has four siblings, Jordan, Jeff, Brandyn and Sam.
