Jenna Prathapa Signs to Play Professionally with Boavista FC in Portugal

Boavista FC, located in Porto, Portugal, competes in Campeonato Nacional Feminino also known as Liga BPI. Prathapa, signed as a striker, joins the team mid-season and makes her debut on January 23.
At Xavier, Prathapa appeared in 13 matches in 2019, finishing the season with seven points on three goals and an assist. She recorded first goal as a Musketeer against Lipscomb, the game-winner in 2-1 match. She recorded two more game-winning goals on the season, in 2-0 win against Providence and in the in 2-1 win over DePaul. She also assisted on a game-winner, Rachel Butler's tally in the 3-1 win against Creighton. During her season as a Musketeer, Prathapa helped Xavier secure the BIG EAST regular season and tournament championships, as well as the program's first win NCAA win, over Virginia Tech as the team collected a school-record 17 wins.
Prathapa transferred to Xavier from Cleveland State, where, as a freshman, Prathapa the team with 15 points on a team-high six goals and three assists, earning Horizon League Freshman of the Year. The Vikings finished the year with a 9-9-1 overall record, then-tied for second most total wins in school history, and 5-4 in the Horizon League, which was then tied for the most in a season in program history.
As a sophomore at CSU, Prathapa played limited minutes due to injury, but scored five goals for a team that set school records for wins with an 11-7-1 overall record and a 6-2-1 Horizon League record. Three of her goals were game-winners, including the game-winner in a 2-1 win over Detroit Mercy in the Horizon League Semifinals for the team's school record 11th win, and the program's first berth to the Horizon League Tournament Championship.
